A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball. In the 7th minute Károly Kutasi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sakálok's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Béla Hudák came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Béla Hudák didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. After 12 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Julian Murillo. In the 15th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Béla Hudák saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Béla Hudák narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 20th minute. In the 26th minute of the match Sakálok got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Károly Kutasi ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 31stth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sakálok's Béla Hudák was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Julian Murillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Béla Hudák was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After 34 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Alvarado. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anfilogino Contaldi in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Béla Hudák. Sakálok's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A well-hit corner resulted in Alonso Berganza heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Béla Hudák breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sakálok's goalkeeper Béla Hudák, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 58th minute of play forced Sakálok's goalkeeper Béla Hudák to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sakálok's goalkeeper Béla Hudák, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th minute Roland Csikós shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sakálok were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Péter Fitos took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Péter Fitos got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Caspar Motter in the 82nd minute of the match. Béla Hudák made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 84th minute. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sakálok's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. A sloppy throw-in by Péter Fitos in the 94th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. The Sakálok supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
