Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Georg Hagberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Nick Heesen notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joep Ponk in the 55th minute. Georg Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 83rd minute of the match. Ágætis Byrjun's attentive Gregorio Urtsin managed to snatch the ball when Felix Luque made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. Dante Lacasa was a little too slow when Nick Heesen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 0-6. Leonardo Leoz made in the 93rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Lautaro Mancebo. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ágætis Byrjun walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
