Dr Lecter SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Celso Trevisan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luz Tejedor. Celso Trevisan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Milagros Fraga in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Dr Lecter SC's Ma Wei Jun. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Corneliu Dridu in the 46th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseo Mina struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Celso Trevisan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. With an all-out effort, Dr Lecter SC's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Corneliu Dridu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 72 minutes, Luz Tejedor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luz Tejedor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peru were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Dr Lecter SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Milagros Fraga got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Celso Trevisan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Omid Kaulbach's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Omid Kaulbach helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dr Lecter SC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Omid Kaulbach hit a great ball. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Dr Lecter SC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Peru had controlled the match.
