With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bruno Pascal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Deportivo Gamberro's Roman Reynardo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Roberto Mosen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Deportivo Gamberro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
