In the 20th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Visti Flintholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Jan-Joost Vogels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 严杰城 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after ☆冰谷☆〓战狼〓登登Master's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 严杰城 in the 92nd minute of play.
