In the 8th match minute, St. James Gate F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barnaby Bayes to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Hugo Ferrant in the 13th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by St. James Gate F.C.'s Barnaby Bayes. If Gealan Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brigid Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. St. James Gate F.C.'s Rowland McDecland managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hugo Ferrant in the 29 minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Hugo Ferrant hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 39 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Gealan Cooney came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Barnaby Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gealan Cooney to make the kick off. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gealan Cooney in the 67th minute of play. Efrain Moruga made in the 78th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by St. James Gate F.C.'s Aaron Walker. A sloppy throw-in by Hugo Ferrant in the 80th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by St. James Gate F.C.'s Barnaby Bayes. 84 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant threw the ball into play from the sideline. St. James Gate F.C.'s Gealan Cooney quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 87th minute, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brigid Rutherford. Brigid Rutherford yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 91 minutes into the match, St. James Gate F.C.'s Gealan Cooney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. St. James Gate F.C.'s attentive Aaron Walker managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. The St. James Gate F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Costa Rica's performance. The match ended with a win for Costa Rica.
