Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Cavalcante in the 17th minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Cavalcante in the 18th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdir Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42ndth minute of the game Valdemar de Amaral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grêmio 20 Julho's Sylwester Zarobski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio 20 Julho from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Valdemar de Amaral made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Valentín Carvallo. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Valdemar de Amaral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Valdemar de Amaral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Humberto Soeiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 55th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Cavalcante got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the game, Ma Xi Kang was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio 20 Julho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. The supporters of Honduras booed when Grêmio 20 Julho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ma Xi Kang didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Humberto Soeiro in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grêmio 20 Julho the free kick. 81 minutes into the game, one of Honduras:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ma Xi Kang got a throw-in 88 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jânio Pires. 90 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's Daniel Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th match minute, Grêmio 20 Julho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ma Xi Kang to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the match, Grêmio 20 Julho's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Sylwester Zarobski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
