After 39 played minutes Shohoku FC got a freekick which was hit by Firmín Navarro. Firmín Navarro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

After 52 played minutes Shohoku FC got a freekick which was hit by Pío Benito. Salomone Irizar's late challenge caught a Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salomone Irizar helped the player get up and apologised. Tamariz Saul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesar Baleren, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Edgard Uzuri took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tamariz Saul. Tamariz Saul dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Cesar Baleren scored 4-0 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tamariz Saul, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute Cesar Baleren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tamariz Saul saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tamariz Saul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Baladi in the 95th minute of play. Tamariz Saul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaias Baladi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Olimpo de Bahia Blanca fans cheered their team off the field, for while Shohoku FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
