Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcinho Mineiro in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Florestal Futebol Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Marcinho Mineiro made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Florestal Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcinho Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Bruno Renan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Florestal Futebol Clube's Zé Paulo de Toledo was substituted for Reinaldo Porto. Florestal Futebol Clube's Matías Camargo was substituted for Marcinho Mineiro. In the 72nd minute, Matías Camargo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Paulo de Lara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Florestal Futebol Clube had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
