Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) 2 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when José Paulo de Lara came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute Marcinho Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Florestal Futebol Clube's Bruno Renan got control of the ball when Agustín Saelices tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Florestal Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Bruno Renan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 13thth minute of the game Marcinho Mineiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 14th minute Marcinho Mineiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match Florestal Futebol Clube got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sherif Cannavaro ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed José Paulo de Lara to score against Julio Vera in Ecuador's goal. 0-1 after 17 minutes. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcinho Mineiro in the 20th minute of play. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Bruno Renan 24 minutes into the match. In the 30th match minute, Florestal Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Porto to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Marcinho Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 39th minute Florestal Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Sherif Cannavaro went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in José Paulo de Lara almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santiago Cidro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Florestal Futebol Clube's Evaristo Eleazar was substituted for Thierry Henry. 59 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcinho Mineiro. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Marcinho Mineiro sent off a good shot on target. Florestal Futebol Clube made a substitution. Matías Camargo replaced Marcinho Mineiro. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matías Camargo got free with Julio Vera in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruno Renan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. A collision led to Florestal Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Zé Paulo de Toledo hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo de Lara in the 85th minute of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Matías Camargo in the 86th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Renan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matías Camargo in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
