A very good chance. 15 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jess Carnduff was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateusz Rydel, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 18th minute Mateusz Rydel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mateusz Rydel made a great header on Alemannia Aachen's corner, it was just that Mexico's Dante Lacasa managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 21st minute of play forced Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Jess Carnduff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Müller in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Müller came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mateusz Rydel who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Alemannia Aachen's Mateusz Rydel to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Alemannia Aachen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bengt Rosenbaum didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Thomas Müller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Müller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Alemannia Aachen were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mateusz Rydel took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Lech Wawrukiewicz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Müller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 62 minutes, Lech Wawrukiewicz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alemannia Aachen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lech Wawrukiewicz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Felix Luque fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mexico's protests and gave Felix Luque a yellow card for diving instead. 65 minutes into the game, one of Mexico:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dante Lacasa had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Thomas Müller's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thomas Müller went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Alemannia Aachen booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateusz Rydel in the 75th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Louis Leißner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alemannia Aachen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 89th minute, when Alberto Tafalla scored to the left of an out of position Jess Carnduff, making the score, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 93rd minute of play forced Alemannia Aachen's goalkeeper Jess Carnduff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Tafalla's late challenge caught a Alemannia Aachen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alberto Tafalla helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Tafalla. In the 95th minute Manfred Kottsieper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Müller's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Alemannia Aachen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
