Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Mariano Lacasa got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Chile's Felix Garrido got a free kick in the 3rd minute. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Gong Ao Guang sped through Chile's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th match minute, C.A. Peñarol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Alen to maneuver through the defense. Xaiver Rosende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Chile's Orlando Casaus managed to work through C.A. Peñarol's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Orlando Casaus dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Gong Ao Guang's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Thiago Pliego firmly grabbed it by the left post. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Casaus in the 22nd minute of play. Felix Garrido kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Xaiver Rosende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute C.A. Peñarol were awarded a corner. Jimeno Infante went to the cornerflag to take it. Goran Lindegger was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Felix Garrido hit a great ball. Xaiver Rosende showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 40th minute of the match. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. After 44 played minutes C.A. Peñarol got a freekick which was hit by Goran Lindegger. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gong Ao Guang to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, C.A. Peñarol's Edelmiro Portal got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Carballar got free with Xaiver Rosende in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 56th minute of play. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Gong Ao Guang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Gong Ao Guang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gong Ao Guang in the 70th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gong Ao Guang in the 74th minute of the match. C.A. Peñarol made a substitution. Anselmo Velin replaced Gong Ao Guang. Xaiver Rosende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute, Anselmo Velin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. Peñarol fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Xaiver Rosende made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anselmo Velin in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xaiver Rosende made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende. Xaiver Rosende was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. C.A. Peñarol were victorious despite being under pressure from Chile for much of the match.
