The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Luís Eduardo Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 35th minute Casimiro Sayveon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casimiro Sayveon's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 44 minutes into the match, Casimiro Sayveon dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 5-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Guaparo FC:s goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
