PIAUÍ FC's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 10th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Mete Gøl kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Iurie Chiriacescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Demis Katsarolidis got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Colombia's Abram Sarmiento in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PIAUÍ FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Abram Sarmiento sped through PIAUÍ FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Iurie Chiriacescu. A sloppy throw-in by Joaquim Ubiña in the 29th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. In the 30th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Chiriacescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kevin Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mete Gøl in the 36th minute of the match. PIAUÍ FC's Guga Trancoso was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 38th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Joaquim Ubiña hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the game, Joaquim Ubiña threw the ball into play from the sideline. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Iurie Chiriacescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in PIAUÍ FC's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Chiriacescu came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Axel Montenegro in the 50thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Iurie Chiriacescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in PIAUÍ FC's zone, Joshua Garrido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Chiriacescu came out of the goal and Joshua Garrido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a free kick in the 67th minute. PIAUÍ FC made a substitution. Leonel Fero replaced Renato Sá. PIAUÍ FC made a substitution. After 69 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Mastache. 71 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Iurie Chiriacescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abram Secada. In the 80th minute, Abram Secada reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iurie Chiriacescu. The goal made the score 4-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for PIAUÍ FC.
