Sundets Pärla FC's Dan Söderström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dan Söderström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Dan Söderström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dan Söderström. Dan Söderström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dan Söderström. After 38 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dan Söderström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dan Söderström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of the match. Dan Söderström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Sundets Pärla FC's Clodoveo Fliz got a free kick in the 44th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Dan Söderström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sundets Pärla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Berggren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 57 played minutes Daniel Zorita shot from long distance. At first the shot seemed to be simple for Sundets Pärla FC's Dan Söderström to catch but Daniel Zorita was lucky. It became 0-6 after the goalkeeper had been careless and dropped the ball into goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Finman in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dan Söderström. Sundets Pärla FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Sundets Pärla FC's Dan Söderström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Sundets Pärla FC from getting a goal against them. Dan Söderström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 85th minute, which Dan Söderström however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
