In the 24th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kahraman Umurbay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kahraman Umurbay was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Kahraman Umurbay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 34th minute of the match. After 36 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After having played for 66 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kahraman Umurbay was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. If Juan Sebastián Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. BATIK's Kahraman Umurbay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save BATIK from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kahraman Umurbay. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
