The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that İldeniz Turatekin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 5 minutes into the match, 11 Aѕℓαη ƒC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Serbülent Çetinay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by İldeniz Turatekin in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 Aѕℓαη ƒC™'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emanuel Mateescu in the 18th minute. In the 19th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 20th minute İldeniz Turatekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Serbülent Çetinay managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 26th minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Serbülent Çetinay saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 36 minutes 11 Aѕℓαη ƒC™'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers İldeniz Turatekin in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 41st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Abdurrahim Perviz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55th minute, Ecuador's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Emanuel Mateescu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 58th minute, İldeniz Turatekin made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Emanuel Mateescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Serbülent Çetinay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, İldeniz Turatekin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 11 Aѕℓαη ƒC™ made a substitution. Tore-Andre Flo replaced İldeniz Turatekin. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Ahmet Fikret Şıran sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sadettin Reha in the 78th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Mateescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Gisbert's late challenge caught a 11 Aѕℓαη ƒC™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gisbert helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tore-Andre Flo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tore-Andre Flo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Tore-Andre Flo sent off a good shot on target.
