Kale Kaledin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kale Kaledin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 11th minute of the match. After 13 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 15th minute of play forced Esporte Clube do Porto's goalkeeper Kale Kaledin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Okanay Elmas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 19thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esporte Clube do Porto's Kale Kaledin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kale Kaledin was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Asep Darusman scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. 32 minutes into the match, Asep Darusman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Asep Darusman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asep Darusman in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube do Porto's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Kale Kaledin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kale Kaledin. Kale Kaledin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Asep Darusman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 55th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kale Kaledin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes into the game, Esporte Clube do Porto's Asep Darusman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Kale Kaledin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Okanay Elmas in the 74th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 76th minute. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Asep Darusman's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Kale Kaledin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 86th minute of play. If Okanay Elmas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Tomas Illescas fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Kale Kaledin, passed just outside the right post. Percy de Queirós made in the 91st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Victor Maciel however managed to control. Venezuela's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Esporte Clube do Porto had won, even though Venezuela had held more of the ball.
