Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Axel Tasis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Paranaense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. When Vítor Marinho fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GUARANI E.C.'s protests and gave Vítor Marinho a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Vítor Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Lautaro Puig made a precise shot to the right of Manuel Paranaense. GUARANI E.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 16th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. The tension between the Costa Rica and the GUARANI E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 36 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. In the 38th minute, GUARANI E.C.'s Vicente Paraense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enio Campidelis in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Axel Tasis to make the kick off. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mazinho Barral in the 55th minute of the match. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Axel Tasis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manuel Paranaense. That made the score 1-3 after 68 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Vicente Paraense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 74th minute of play forced GUARANI E.C.'s goalkeeper Manuel Paranaense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Paraense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Vicente Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to GUARANI E.C. getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Dida Pimenta hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho Barral in the 87th minute of play. After 94 played minutes GUARANI E.C. got a freekick which was hit by Enio Campidelis.
