The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Scorpions -MM-'s Traian Uzuneanu was substituted for Dan Tinu. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Scorpions -MM-'s Fabian Mihuț got a free kick in the 90th minute. Jonathan Venegas was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. Venezuela's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Scorpions -MM- had won, even though Venezuela had held more of the ball.
