A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Marco Tamayo hit a great ball. Sébastien Deswarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jesus Carvallo during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Carvallo. After 44 played minutes, jouy FC's Jean-Michel Chênot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in jouy FC reached it. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nolan Ducroux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sébastien Deswarte stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sébastien Deswarte in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. In the 86th minute of the match Toufik Bauche sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita skillfully saved the ball. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kader Bergère, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Gonon in the 96th minute of play.
