Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Quentin Gonzalez made the kick off which started today's match. Zarando Lastras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 2nd minute. Zarando Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 5th minute of play forced Atlético Maravilla's goalkeeper Zarando Lastras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zarando Lastras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of play. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zarando Lastras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leopoldo de Queiroz in the 21st minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolph Grieve didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 25th minute of play forced Atlético Maravilla's goalkeeper Zarando Lastras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zarando Lastras. Atlético Maravilla's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Gonzalez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Atlético Maravilla defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarando Lastras. The Atlético Maravilla fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarando Lastras should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Hidalgo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dionisio Hidalgo in the 50th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quentin Gonzalez in the 53rd minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Maravilla's Quentin Gonzalez. But to his dismay, Quentin Gonzalez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Maravilla from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Dionisio Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Maravilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Dionisio Hidalgo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Atlético Maravilla getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Herminio March hit a great ball. In the 64th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zarando Lastras was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. After some careless play in the Atlético Maravilla defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarando Lastras. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Maravilla made a substitution. Shawn Seracino Inglott replaced Dionisio Hidalgo. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zarando Lastras read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Quentin Gonzalez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Zarando Lastras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zarando Lastras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 93rd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Atlético Maravilla's goalkeeper Zarando Lastras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho.
