Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Tomas Berganza started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Jose Carita fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Jose Carita a yellow card for diving instead. After 2 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Jose Carita. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pranas Užkuraitis in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. In the 6th match minute, Batalhão do Peçanha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carter Leggeri to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Tróia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 15th minute, Vânderson Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Batalhão do Peçanha getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Christian Peixoto hit a great ball. After 17 played minutes Batalhão do Peçanha got a freekick which was hit by Barr Eira. In the 18th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Batalhão do Peçanha's Eppo Pollmann got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, Batalhão do Peçanha's Pranas Užkuraitis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute Pranas Užkuraitis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pranas Užkuraitis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Pranas Užkuraitis came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pranas Užkuraitis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jose Carita kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Batalhão do Peçanha's Vânderson Vasconcelos got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isidoro Sarmiento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Petr Čech made a huge save. 68 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Pranas Užkuraitis came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jose Carita was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 84 minutes had been played. Batalhão do Peçanha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Panama the free kick. In the 89th minute, Carter Leggeri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Epaminondas Baba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute of the match Miguel Miralles shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Petr Čech showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Pranas Užkuraitis came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
