The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Rahim Kornes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th play minute Fernando Negro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rolando Noboa. 1-0. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Song Wei Yun came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rahim Kornes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rahim Kornes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 26 minutes Seraċini Għawdxin's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. In the 27th minute Neil Degabriele shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rahim Kornes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. Eliseo Mina was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 34th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rahim Kornes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rahim Kornes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rahim Kornes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Song Wei Yun got free with Rolando Noboa in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Joaquin Prats hit a great ball. Rahim Kornes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rahim Kornes saved Seraċini Għawdxin from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rahim Kornes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 52nd minute of the match. Rahim Kornes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Song Wei Yun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Song Wei Yun came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Song Wei Yun in the 73rd minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Seraċini Għawdxin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neil Degabriele to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filip Bejrut in the 78th minute of the match. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Fernando Negro hit a great ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Rahim Kornes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Gallo in the 84th minute. Miguel Caruana made in the 89th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rahim Kornes having to interfere. The Seraċini Għawdxin supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Peru's performance. The match ended with a win for Peru.
