An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 4th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Deilmison van Basten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Deilmison van Basten scored 0-2 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Lorenzo Yepes fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Lorenzo Yepes a yellow card for diving instead. ATHLETICO PRaiano made a substitution. Vítor Roque replaced Deilmison van Basten. After 11 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Salvador! Ricardo Zorita went to the wrong direction when Betão Marquez was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 18 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. In the 20th minute Vítor Roque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Roque, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Vítor Roque came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joshua Curbelo charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joshua Curbelo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After having played for 27 minutes, Vítor Roque managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ATHLETICO PRaiano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Roque was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30thth minute of the game Vítor Roque who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Vítor Roque's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vítor Roque's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Vítor Roque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, ATHLETICO PRaiano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Roque to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denílson Magalhães went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Vítor Roque took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Ricardo Zorita to make any attempt to save it. Vítor Roque might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Roque ran back to his position shaking his head. The ATHLETICO PRaiano fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when ATHLETICO PRaiano's Vítor Roque looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-10 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 75th minute, Unax Mudarra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Vítor Roque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Vítor Roque received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out and tried to block the shot, but Vítor Roque slotted it home off the left post making it 0-12 in the 82nd minute. Unax Mudarra came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ricardo Zorita could save by the left post. Vítor Roque who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Ricardo Zorita when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Vítor Roque made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-13. When the match was over ATHLETICO PRaiano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than El Salvador throughout the match.
