After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Ham Kaas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Ham Kaas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan Zenden kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Haroldo Weather shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Haroldo Weather in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Ham Kaas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After 33 minutes, Tomas Illescas made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Haroldo Weather's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Pannekoeken booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Haroldo Weather to strike the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Weather, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pannekoeken's Elbert Haar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Emil Skikiewicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute Haroldo Weather shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Secada to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Pannekoeken's Haroldo Weather. But to his dismay, Haroldo Weather quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1.
