Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, Monsalvo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulino Ekhi to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andres Ariando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andres Ariando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andres Ariando in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monsalvo's goalkeeper Andres Ariando, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner led Monsalvo's Apolo Martxelin to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andres Ariando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of the match. When Paulino Ekhi came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Monsalvo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Ekhi couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andres Ariando having to make a save. Paulino Ekhi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Monsalvo's Andres Ariando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of play. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Paulino Ekhi sent off a good shot on target. Ismael Ikatz charged in rather forcefully in the 48th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ismael Ikatz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, one of Monsalvo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Monsalvo. Andres Ariando had in the 48thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulino Ekhi made a kick off. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Paulino Ekhi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 60th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Paulino Ekhi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monsalvo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolo Martxelin, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Monsalvo made a substitution. Teobaldo Montrell replaced Lisandro Nafarroa. After 74 played minutes Monsalvo got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Martxelin. Andres Ariando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Monsalvo booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulino Ekhi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Monsalvo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvaldo Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andres Ariando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Ariando read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Montrell came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes, Teobaldo Montrell made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 94 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Ekhi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andres Ariando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute. Ecuador's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
