Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Carlos Alberto Azevedo made the kick off which started today's match. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Nacional from getting a goal against them. After having played for 6 minutes, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chile's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Lacasa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 7 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Azevedo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Chile's Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 10th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile's Mariano Lacasa got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Atlético Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Nacional's zone, Guillermo Fontirroig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Peio came out of the goal and Guillermo Fontirroig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Rodas in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute Baldomero Rodas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Nacional were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Baldomero Rodas took the corner. Atlético Nacional's Baldomero Rodas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teodoro Peio having to make a save. 26 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. 29 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Sasoin came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Chile got a corner. Atlético Nacional's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mariano Lacasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Carballar in the 45th minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mariano Lacasa was the one to do the kick off. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 57th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Alberto Azevedo in the 58th minute. After 60 minutes, Guillermo Fontirroig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chile and the Atlético Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. Guillermo Fontirroig kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Teodoro Peio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 62nd minute of the match. Teodoro Peio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Teodoro Peio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 69 minutes of play, Chile's Mariano Lacasa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Primitivo Mendez sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute, Atlético Nacional's Nemesio Damario seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Nemesio Damario the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atlético Nacional protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Nemesio Damario had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of Atlético Nacional:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chile:s goal. Xavier Figueroa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 91st minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Teodoro Peio. Atlético Nacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 97th minute of play.
