An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 37th minute of play forced Mesere's goalkeeper Cai Fei Cheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Behe Ruisuarez during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafin Cernadas in the 43rd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cai Fei Cheng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 67th minute of the match. Inko Sagrario hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Mesere's Cai Fei Cheng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Mesere from getting a goal against them. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segio Galantia in the 74th minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mesere made a substitution. Millrick Ballestero replaced Hever Almaguer. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Cai Fei Cheng in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mesere's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cai Fei Cheng quite easily take care of the ball. The attack was good, but when Lautaro Mancebo in the 89th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Innocenzio Barcenas fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mesere's protests and gave Innocenzio Barcenas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Innocenzio Barcenas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Alberto Tafalla could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Cai Fei Cheng however easily saved by the left post. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cai Fei Cheng read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. The Mesere supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mexico's performance. The match ended with a win for Mexico.
