Giles Lanen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Postelnicescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Jose Meeus hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute Horia Boerescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giles Lanen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giles Lanen came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by The Valar's Gandalf Grey. But to his dismay, Gandalf Grey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Giles Lanen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Horia Boerescu went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gandalf Grey in the 27th minute of play forced FC Draconia's goalkeeper Giles Lanen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpiu Postelnicescu scored 1-3 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giles Lanen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Giles Lanen came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by The Valar's Gandalf Grey. But to his dismay, Gandalf Grey quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. FC Draconia's Florian Seveneijnts was substituted for Christian Van Maestricht. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Virgil Meleșcanu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Giles Lanen skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 63 minutes into the game, Kraig McAlphie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Francisc Ghionescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 67 minutes, Freddy Olemans mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Draconia and the The Valar players grew even worse after the yellow card. 68 minutes into the match, Damian Dăscălescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Giles Lanen. FC Draconia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damian Dăscălescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. FC Draconia made a substitution. Etienne Langhmans replaced Kraig McAlphie. After a rather tough play, FC Draconia's Alexandros Sgouros got a free kick in the 72nd minute. FC Draconia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Valar the free kick. Alexandros Sgouros kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 90th minute Florian Seveneijnts shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisc Ghionescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Dăscălescu got free with Giles Lanen in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
