To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Nestor Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 9 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Cortez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nestor Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Francis in the 13th minute of play. Nestor Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 15th minute of the match. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Nestor Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Francis to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saul Montrel in the 55th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
