Luc Van Hinnendael came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Decathlon Dudes's Anthon Melin. But to his dismay, Anthon Melin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 13 minutes into the match, Costin Moisil dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luc Van Hinnendael, 2-1. In the 19th minute of the match, Anthon Melin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luc Van Hinnendael saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 24 minutes into the game, FC Bruges's Mac Mon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tadej Pogačar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. FC Bruges's Luc Van Hinnendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrik Larsson in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes FC Bruges got a freekick which was hit by Carl Van Kamp. Luc Van Hinnendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costin Moisil in the 34th minute of the match. Ken Brogren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadej Pogačar having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Decathlon Dudes's Anthon Melin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luc Van Hinnendael narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tadej Pogačar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Brogren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Decathlon Dudes booed when FC Bruges was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Eggers didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anthon Melin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Luc Van Hinnendael successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

54 minutes into the match, FC Bruges's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Larsson came free, but Luc Van Hinnendael reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Tadej Pogačar managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when FC Bruges's Xavies Muñagorri fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 60th minute, FC Bruges's Philip Verhasselt seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Philip Verhasselt the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Bruges protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Philip Verhasselt had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 61st minute there was a penalty for Decathlon Dudes. Henrik Larsson stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luc Van Hinnendael. 3-2. A sloppy throw-in by Ken Brogren in the 65th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Decathlon Dudes's Cezary Bara. 70 minutes into the game, Carl Van Kamp threw the ball into play from the sideline. Decathlon Dudes's Marinus Doren quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Corrigan in the 83rd minute of play forced Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper Tadej Pogačar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Decathlon Dudes reached it.
