Erik Allikmäe might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luc Van Hinnendael. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Bruges! In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Basmane Texas. Gürsel Aksel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Luc Van Hinnendael. 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gürsel Aksel was the one to do the kick off.
