Alfredo Bergomi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Alfredo Bergomi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Facundo Cadaval hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Alfredo Bergomi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo to a score. 0-3 in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 19th minute of play forced ASD Real Molinella 1911's goalkeeper Alfredo Bergomi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Bergomi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe Vianello in the 25th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ASD Real Molinella 1911's Alfredo Bergomi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, ASD Real Molinella 1911's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Alfredo Bergomi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Bergomi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Lorenzo Cazalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Cazalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Bergomi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Joel Gaona might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfredo Bergomi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Gaona ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Luque during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermanno Clemente, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to ASD Real Molinella 1911 getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Federico Pierdomenico hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredo Bergomi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfredo Bergomi. Alfredo Bergomi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Bergomi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alfredo Bergomi. Alfredo Bergomi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. With a little luck, ASD Real Molinella 1911's Alfredo Bergomi got control of the ball when Luca Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 68th minute, Facundo Cadaval got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alfredo Bergomi was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Luca Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luca Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Alfredo Bergomi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Bergomi. ASD Real Molinella 1911's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luca Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Bergomi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfredo Bergomi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. Ermanno Tagliente kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mexico booed when ASD Real Molinella 1911 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camillo Guidoni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermanno Clemente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after ASD Real Molinella 1911's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Luca Rouco managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than ASD Real Molinella 1911.
