Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Endura, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The audience was convinced that Tomas Berganza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Vigil was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Sadurni in the 22nd minute of play. After 31 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Barrios. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Tomas Berganza sped through Frisia AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santos Vigil. 41 minutes into the game, Fernan Gurutz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Santo Panpili hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Santos Vigil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 54th minute of play. Santos Vigil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th match minute, Frisia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Sadurni to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Sadurni got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 75 played minutes Frisia AFC got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Truylos. Frisia AFC's Cornelio Etxatxu was substituted for Ramiro Xacintu. The supporters of Panama booed when Frisia AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugenio Truylos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Frisia AFC's Leon Videl dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. In the 84th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santos Vigil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Frisia AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Frisia AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
