Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Toro Junior took the kick off in the first half of the match. When Doni Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the AE Uruguaianense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doni Catarinense couldn't finish the play. Jardel Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Toro Junior tried to sneak it across the goal line. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Doni Catarinense sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doni Catarinense in the 27th minute. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jardel Queiroz having to interfere. Jardel Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 38th minute of play. Doni Catarinense hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Antônio Carlos Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jardel Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 58th minute. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz managed to reach the ball for a save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toro Junior in the 60th minute of play. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jardel Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Toro Junior's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toro Junior in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. AE Uruguaianense's Jardel Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save AE Uruguaianense from getting a goal against them. Jardel Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 74th minute. After 75 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. 78 minutes into the match, AE Uruguaianense's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Jardel Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, AE Uruguaianense's goalkeeper Jardel Queiroz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The supporters of AE Uruguaianense booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramiro Teles, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Toro Junior notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 89th match minute, AE Uruguaianense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Alberto Domingues to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute, Antônio Carlos Arantes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AE Uruguaianense had played much better football throughout.
