Arnaldo Perpinya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Axel Montenegro put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Joel Delfino. La Cosa Nostra were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arnaldo Perpinya took the corner. After having played for 22 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in La Cosa Nostra's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Delfino came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 33 minutes, Hans Otterlei made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Delfino saved La Cosa Nostra from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans Otterlei stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Joel Delfino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Delfino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Montenegro in the 62nd minute of the match. Joel Delfino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santino Seco in the 66th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Joel Delfino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Joel Delfino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, La Cosa Nostra's Jairo Boniel got a free kick in the 70th minute. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. La Cosa Nostra's Marciano Bizen was substituted for Hans Otterlei. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. In the 81st minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Delfino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 86th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Joel Delfino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes La Cosa Nostra's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kevin Mastache who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Colombia's Ignacio Mastache getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Tytus Lepper charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tytus Lepper the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joel Delfino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Pedro Manzanares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marciano Bizen in the 92nd minute. After 94 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Santino Seco. If Marciano Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice moves Marciano Bizen could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Pedro Manzanares however easily saved by the left post. The La Cosa Nostra supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Cosa Nostra would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
