Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hans Otterlei took the kick off in the first half of the match. Joel Delfino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play. Joel Delfino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Peru's Luz Tejedor in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Cosa Nostra's goalie prevented a goal. Joel Delfino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joel Delfino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 15th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Julian Murillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Joel Delfino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Hans Otterlei had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 26 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Otterlei came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hans Otterlei's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Delfino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half Peru were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 54th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Delfino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Otterlei in the 62nd minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Otterlei, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Joel Delfino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. After 69 minutes of play, La Cosa Nostra's Hans Otterlei made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! La Cosa Nostra's Marciano Bizen was substituted for Hans Otterlei. La Cosa Nostra's Bartolo Nesor was substituted for Arnaldo Perpinya. After 79 played minutes La Cosa Nostra got a freekick which was hit by Steve Hodge. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marciano Bizen, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 92 minutes into the match, Rafael Gallo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joel Delfino, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 95th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Joel Delfino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru played a much better game than La Cosa Nostra and deserved their victory. The La Cosa Nostra players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
