An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of play forced Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Márcio Varanda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. When Mindelos Academy's Adriano Henriques in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio Varanda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 68 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Laurentino Fontes came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Bartolomeo Roßberger ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
