An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of play forced Tiger's goalkeeper Kristian Willem Neuling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Willem Neuling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Tiger's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Kristian Willem Neuling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. The Tiger players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-1.

The supporters of Mexico booed when Tiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulko Schwaderer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kristian Willem Neuling. Kristian Willem Neuling yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Kristian Willem Neuling in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kristian Willem Neuling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes into the game, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kristian Willem Neuling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Kristian Willem Neuling made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tiger throughout the match.
