The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Zeca Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the The Beatles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeca Brodel couldn't finish the play. The Beatles's Zeca Brodel came free and shot a quick shot against goal 8 minutes in the game, fortunately Julio Vera had problems saving as it came toward the left post. A collision led to The Beatles getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Denis Rondou hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cauã Xavier saved The Beatles from getting behind. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cauã Xavier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zeca Brodel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in The Beatles's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Cauã Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Denis Rondou charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denis Rondou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes The Beatles got a freekick which was hit by Denis Rondou. After a rather tough play, The Beatles's Evert Österlund got a free kick in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, The Beatles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arthur Simão to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Doru Lițu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by The Beatles's Zeca Brodel. But to his dismay, Zeca Brodel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Cauã Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of play. Cauã Xavier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Andino in the 68th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Zeca Brodel managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Beatles's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeca Brodel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, The Beatles's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Cauã Xavier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The The Beatles fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
