Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cauã Xavier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cauã Xavier came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cauã Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Joaquin Prats hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cauã Xavier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 26th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raio Piiroja in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cauã Xavier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Cauã Xavier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
