When Kris Longden fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hydra's protests and gave Kris Longden a yellow card for diving instead. Orlando Chepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 9th minute of play. Hydra's Orlando Chepe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Hydra booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Xavier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orlando Chepe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Luca Zorita hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After the first half Mexico were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Gaona to make the kick off. Urdaspal Ronda kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. With a little luck, Hydra's Orlando Chepe got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Hydra's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Alberto Tafalla got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Orlando Chepe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Emmanuel in the 55th minute of play. Hydra's Orlando Chepe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 56th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Kris Longden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 minutes, Joel Gaona mouthed his way into the referee's book. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
