Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Hock, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute of the match Dragons AFC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jo-Wilfried Schouten ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Justino Santos managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 13th minute, Prime Hock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 15 played minutes Dragons AFC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Guerau. Jo-Wilfried Schouten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jo-Wilfried Schouten in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Dragons AFC's Prime Hock sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Hock, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute Prime Hock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Jo-Wilfried Schouten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dragons AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Jo-Wilfried Schouten kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Lorenzo Beckman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute. After the first half Dragons AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Dragons AFC's Nicasio Gomesano got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Prime Hock in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th match minute, Dragons AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florentino Guib to maneuver through the defense. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Prime Hock came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lorenzo Beckman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute of play forced Dragons AFC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Beckman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dragons AFC's Lorenzo Beckman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 88th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prime Hock in the 89th minute of the match. Prime Hock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Donato Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dragons AFC's protests and gave Donato Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Dragons AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lorenzo Beckman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Although Ecuador had been in control for most of the match, Dragons AFC still came away with the win.
