Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Axel Tasis kicked off to start the match. Niğde FK's Güral Canay got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 5 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mehmet Akdoğu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Güral Canay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Jannick Husegaard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. 20 minutes into the match, Niğde FK's Güral Canay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Brian Fitzpatrick blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Niğde FK's Mehmet Akdoğu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Eliseo Noboa made a precise shot to the right of Mehmet Akdoğu. Niğde FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 33rd minute, Brian Fitzpatrick ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 39 minutes into the match, Baycan Cinel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baycan Cinel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Niğde FK's Şanver Hazar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Efrain Moruga in the 47 minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Fitzpatrick was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Niğde FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berker Kadrettin to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Güral Canay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Güral Canay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. 66 minutes into the game, Brian Fitzpatrick cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brian Fitzpatrick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Güral Canay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Fitzpatrick in the 88th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Niğde FK were the better team. Niğde FK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
