The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 14th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Milagros Fraga however managed to control. 19 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pepe Toxeiro. Real Club Celta de Vigo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Emmanuel Reyes got a throw-in 22 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Milagros Fraga. Pepe Toxeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 23rd minute of play. If Julian Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Julian Murillo took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Pepe Toxeiro to make any attempt to save it. After 34 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Pepe Toxeiro made a huge save. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Club Celta de Vigo's goalkeeper Pepe Toxeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, Real Club Celta de Vigo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Poli Urquijo to maneuver through the defense.

The wind increased when Renato Tapia made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Renato Tapia tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Real Club Celta de Vigo defense, Milagros Fraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pepe Toxeiro. The Real Club Celta de Vigo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pepe Toxeiro should have stopped the shot. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo.
