The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 36th minute of play forced GALATASARAY1905's goalkeeper Ahmet Reha Tanın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 minutes, Barbaros Vacip mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GALATASARAY1905 and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erhan Saruca made a kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Numan Baykoca could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Marcos Cotilla however easily saved by the left post. In the 53rd minute of the match GALATASARAY1905 got a corner. Panama's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bedrettin Ömer ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Bedrettin Ömer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcos Cotilla quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 54 minutes into the match, GALATASARAY1905's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Ahmet Reha Tanın reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the GALATASARAY1905 defense, Abraham Alguacil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahmet Reha Tanın. The GALATASARAY1905 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahmet Reha Tanın should have stopped the shot. Tomas Berganza might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Reha Tanın. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Berganza ran back to his position shaking his head. After 63 played minutes, Panama's Abraham Alguacil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ahmet Reha Tanın came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Panama reached it. In the 65th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Reha Tanın saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Miguel Miralles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. In the 71st minute, Battal Bucuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Reha Tanın having to interfere. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute.
