A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Philip Sandwall in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the game, George Soned threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Emanuel Ocampo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertil Heggert in the 25th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Philip Sandwall to make the kick off.
