Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Garaona Camino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Garaona Camino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdo Valerón made in the 26th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Zahar Ucero. Garaona Camino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Puerto de Sagunto CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Valerón didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Garaona Camino read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Patricio Costa rounded Puerto de Sagunto CF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Puerto de Sagunto CF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 46th minute. Penalty! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximiano Caballero to make the kick off. 63 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Garaona Camino made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garaona Camino saved Puerto de Sagunto CF from getting behind. When Venezuela's Tomas Illescas in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Puerto de Sagunto CF's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. The long shot by Zahar Ucero in the 79th minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Puerto de Sagunto CF getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Tito Marrero hit a great ball. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Garaona Camino saved Puerto de Sagunto CF from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Tito Marrero made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. After 97 played minutes Puerto de Sagunto CF got a freekick which was hit by Zahar Ucero. Venezuela were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Puerto de Sagunto CF for a fine match.
