An unexpectedly hard shot by Izydor Radzyminski in the 8th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Luo Ao Le hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cassius Byrne took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ronnie Gregoire. Ronnie Gregoire dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 20th minute Izydor Radzyminski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, USA's Ronnie Gregoire threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edward Mcdonald, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Zryw Samsonów's Ronnie Gregoire proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Zryw Samsonów from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Izydor Radzyminski in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Anselmo Morera might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marco Day. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Morera ran back to his position shaking his head. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Morera in the 35th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Izydor Radzyminski came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Gregoire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roman Bartoszek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ronnie Gregoire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 54th minute of play. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Morera in the 58th minute. Zryw Samsonów's Ronnie Gregoire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 60th minute of play. Ronnie Gregoire stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. USA were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Zryw Samsonów's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Jacob May managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. In the 85th minute, Marco Baker ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronnie Gregoire was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1.
